I look for images either in nature or man made that lend themselves to dramatic expression. Using my own photographs as the starting point, I also use a number of techniques to create collages and blended images. Capturing the images to start with is a lot of the fun, to be honest. I take my cameras scuba diving as well as hiking and have just added a small drone to the arsenal.
I began working with cameras as a news reporter using black and white film. Yes, film. But this taught me the entire dark room process and the ideas behind those techniques seamlessly translated into the digital world. My training in art came at Yale and I have a BA in art.
I have been fortunate enough to have had solo exhibitions of my work in New York, Washington DC, and Fort Lauderdale. I also take part in numerous art festivals. I am currently with the Box Gallery in West Palm Beach.
